Presidents Report - November 2008 PDF Print E-mail

As we roll on to the close of the year there are some important Club dates for your Calendar.

Firstly remember Stockeys Run, which is set down for Sunday the 14th of December. It will be a great opportunity for us to catch up with Polly again and to honour the large contribution that John made to our Club over the years. Colin Sullivan is organizing the run. Details will be in this Sprocket.

I have been banging on a bit lately regarding Guest Speakers at our meetings. I wish to thank the members who have contacted me with names of possible Speakers for the future. I think it is important that we try and make the meetings as interesting as possible with good talks of interest to us all.

For the November meeting Phil McArdle is going to talk about his motorcycling trips in Europe. This should be of interest to all the Members and I suggest that we support Phil by filling the Hall on that night.

Another date to remember is Wednesday the 17th of December. This is the traditional Christmas BBQ at the Deepdene Hall.

It is our last fellowship function for the year and it is great to be able to relax with our fellow members and chat about old times and the good times to come. Remember it is BYO everything.

One last thing is to remind you that the Maffra Rally is on again on the 14/15th of February 2009.This has become in a few short Years a traditional favourite amongst our Members. Ian Kennedy and his crew put in a huge amount of work to make it a success each year and it is up to us to support it. It is worth going just to try Jan's Anzacs!

Remember dust off your Classic Bike and start riding. It blows away the cobwebs and takes your mind off these troubled times.

Ride safely,

David Langridge.
